A Third of Us Alliance mobilizes churches and ministries across denominations to reach the unreached through collaborative action.

A movement with a mission behind it

A Third of Us was born out of the Alliance for the Unreached, a campaign to spotlight the one-third of humanity with little or no access to the gospel. Today, Missio Nexus carries that vision forward, leading the initiative and continuing the annual International Day of Prayer for the Unreached.

A viral campaign begins

A Third of Us began as a viral awareness campaign launched by the Alliance for the Unreached. Its purpose was to highlight that one-third of humanity still has little or no access to the gospel.

Millions engage

The campaign gained significant traction, with millions of engagements, and became the most visible identity of the Alliance.

Missio Nexus takes the lead

Missio Nexus, a community that connects and strengthens missions organizations across the global church, stepped in to help steward what was growing. As a natural connector across the missions movement, it was a natural fit to carry the momentum forward together.

Rebranding and restructuring

Recognizing the strong public recognition of the campaign, Missio Nexus guided a rebranding: the Alliance for the Unreached would now be known as the A Third of Us Alliance. Membership was reorganized into advisory and contributing tiers.

Today a declaration of shared purpose

The rebranded alliance continues to mobilize the global church around unreached peoples. It encompasses the Day of the Unreached, observed each Pentecost Sunday. This shift is a declaration of shared purpose to rally churches and agencies toward reaching the unreached.
